in tandem with the annual Maples and Merlot event in Port Angeles on October 26, 2024, a group of maple friends took the opportunity to turn it into a fun weekend road trip!

We began our road trip with tours of Elandan Gardens and Albers Marcovina Vista Gardens (pictured below) in Bremerton on Friday, private garden visits in the Sequim and Port Angeles area on Saturday morning, followed by the annual Maples and Merlot event at Bart and Marielle Eykemans' home on Saturday afternoon/evening. On Sunday we enjoyed another private garden visit in Port Townsend, after which the group dispersed to continue exploring other gardens on the peninsula. A huge thanks to Dan Everts for the inspiration and coordination of this delightful weekend!
